AHCI Urologist Vipul Patel, MD, Helped Lead Virtual 2020 World Robotic Symposium

Vipul Patel, MD, Medical Director of AdventHealth’s Global Robotics Institute, also serves as Executive Director of the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) and recently helped lead the virtual 2020 World Robotic Symposium. The conference objective was to bring multi-specialty robotic surgeons from around the world together in solidarity during this challenging global pandemic. This meeting successfully created a virtual environment that allowed attendees to learn from each other through video presentations and live discussion, dialog through question and answer sessions, explore the latest robotic technologies in the exhibit hall, and experience the future of robotic surgery through the eyes of investors and companies developing new, emerging technologies. The symposium also included the very first Future Robotics Surgeons Teen Forum, where teens interviewed robotic surgeons to explore what they envision for the future.

The meeting drew over 10,000 participants from 91 countries. International affiliate societies came through with programming in Asia, Australia, Europe, India and Latin America all under one SRS umbrella platform.
